James joined the Wills, Trusts and Probate department at Browell Smith & Co. Solicitors in October 2024, after graduating from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a first-class honours degree in Law.
During his degree, James authored a dissertation titled “Foundations at Risk: Situating the Belfast Agreement within the UK Constitution” which is due to be published by the North East Law Review in the summer of 2025.
James intends on commencing the Legal Practice Course from January 2025, which forms the vocational stage of legal training and is the next step towards qualification as a solicitor.
Outside of work, James is involved in local politics and, prior to starting work at Browell Smith & Co., he was employed by a national political party for the duration of the 2024 General Election.
