Divorce Financial Settlement

When it comes to sorting out financial matters after couples separate, it is important to have sound legal advice which considers not only the here and now, but the implications for your and your children’s long-term futures.

Browell Smith & Co Solicitors has significant experience in this field, which is why you can rely on our team of legal experts to deliver clear advice on the options available for restructuring your family finances.

We have been handling divorce cases and reaching satisfactory financial settlements for our clients for over 20 years now. We know that no two families are the same and, as such, appreciate the need for the personal touch in all cases.

Our legal team appreciates that this can be an anxious time and that you may be worried about what will happen to the family home, savings, debts, pensions and financial needs for the children of the family. Not only do we consider legal solutions but also take into account practical considerations.

We work closely with other trusted professionals and where appropriate we can refer you to mediators, arbitrators, independent financial advisers, pension advisers, accountants and estate agents.

Testimonials

What happens if I don’t reach a divorce financial settlement?

You don’t necessarily have to reach an agreement when going through this process, however, if you don’t then this means your spouse/ partner could try and make a financial claim against you in the future. Our team will always try and help you reach an agreement, meaning that you have a Consent Order in place, even if you don’t share assets like pensions or savings.
